Celebrations in Paris turned into a disaster after Paris Saint-Germain’s (PSG) 5-0 big victory over Inter Milan in the UEFA Champions League final, Two people died, over 190 injuries occurred, and more than 500 people were arrested, according to the French interior ministry.

The riots began in Paris near the Parc des Princes stadium and quickly spread to other areas, including the Champs-Élysées and Place de la Concorde. The fans’ celebrations became increasingly violent as flares, fireworks, and smoke bombs were set off in the street. Eventually, riot police were deployed to control crowds and then some fans vandalized public infrastructure, looting, and setting vehicles on fire. Police responded by using tear gas and water cannons, which provoked angry reactions.

PSG condemned the riots in a statement, “isolated acts are contrary to the club's values and in no way represent the vast majority of our supporters".

French President Emmanuel Macron said “Nothing can justify what has happened in the last few hours, the violent clashes are unacceptable and that those who were involved will be found and punished.

The club’s victory parade started in central Paris on Sunday afternoon, despite the riots, but it proceeded with increased police and military presence.

And, the police set a maximum of 100,000 fans for the event.
