Korean striker Oh Hyeon-gyu’s expected move from Belgian side Genk to Bundesliga club Stuttgart has collapsed. He was reported to be on his way for a medical test, but concerns about a past cruciate ligament injury raised doubts.

Negotiations also broke down over the transfer fee. Stuttgart offered around €20 million, while Genk insisted on €28 million, and the gap could not be closed.

Oh, who previously played for Suwon Samsung and Celtic before joining Genk, scored 12 goals and 3 assists last season. He averaged one goal contribution every 58 minutes, showing strong attacking efficiency.

With the transfer canceled, Oh will remain at Genk for the 2025–26 season. He has also been called up to the Korean national team and will take part in September friendlies against the United States and Mexico.
