Samsung Lions goes to the playoffs by beating Ssg Lander

On 10/14 there was a fourth semi-playoff game between Samsung Lions and SSG Landers.

Samsung's starting pitcher was Jurado, and SSG Landers' starting pitcher was Kim Kwang Hyun. Up to now the series, Samsung Lions is leading the series by 2-1. If Samsung Lions win this fourth game, they can end the series, whereas Ssg Landers want to extend the series.


At the beginning of the game, each team's starting pitcher led the game well. However, at the top of the 3rd inning, Kim ji chan made a hit and Samsung Lions led 1-0. Jurado had perfect pitching in the game. He didn’t allow a point during 7 innings with 9 strikeouts. Jurado was having a hard time in the post season, recording a 6.43 ERA with 2 losses. Kim Kwang-hyun also had a great pitch giving only one point during 5 innings. At the top of 8th inning, Park Sung-han hit a double which made 2-2 equal. In the bottom of the 8th inning, Diaz, who is the best KBO hitter in this season, hit a two-run homerun. Samsung Lions Lee Jae Hyun hit a home run right after Diaz homerun which is a back-to-back home homerun. Finally, closer Kim Jae-yoon ended the game and he set a new record, recording 4 saves in the semi playoff. After the game, the best series player was Diaz.


Following 17th, Samsung Lions will meet Hanwha Eagles in the playoff. Samsung Lions succeed in going to the playoffs 2 seasons in a row. The important point for the playoff is whether Samsung Lions strong hitter lineup or Hanwha Eagles' impeccable pitcher line up.
