Newcastle United is reportedly targeting Kim Min-jae from Bayern Munich ahead of the summer transfer window, with a proposed fee of around 50 million euros. The club has already contacted the player's agent, aiming to strengthen a defense weakened by injuries this season.

Kim, who rose to global prominence during his time at Napoli, has played 42 matches for Bayern this season. Despite his solid performance, recent criticism following a match against Dortmund—where he allowed a goal - has fueled rumors of a transfer. Reports also revealed that Kim has been playing through injuries, including Achilles tendon pain and back issues, due to a lack of defensive options at Bayern.

Alongside Newcastle, Chelsea and Juventus are also reportedly interested in the 28-year-old Korean center-back. Sources suggest Kim is open to leaving Bayern and is especially interested in moving to the English Premier League.

If the transfer proceeds, Kim would likely secure a starting role at Newcastle and participate in next season’s UEFA Champions League. The club is also expected to visit South Korea this summer, raising anticipation for a possible reunion match between Kim and Tottenham’s Son Heung-min.
