Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) advanced to the UEFA Champions League semifinals after losing 2-3 to Aston Villa in the second leg but winning 5-4 on aggregate. Despite the team’s success, Korean midfielder Lee Kang-in did not play in either match and stayed on the bench both times.
PSG started the game well with two early goals, but Aston Villa came back strong, scoring three goals. Still, PSG managed to move on to the next round.
Many fans were disappointed that Lee Kang-in didn’t get a chance. French media even criticized him, saying the team looked better without him. Earlier this season, Lee played in different positions and helped the team, but his playing time has decreased recently. Other midfielders have taken key roles, and it seems harder for Lee to break into the starting lineup.
As PSG aims for their first UCL title, Lee’s future role is unclear. Fans hope he will get another chance to prove himself soon.
