Kyungbock High School won first place at the 55th Autumn Korea Secondary School Basketball Federation Championship, held in Sangju starting September 8. On September 18, they claimed a decisive 77-48 victory over Yongsan High School in the final. With this win, Kyungbock secured their second title of the season.

Kyungbock’s starting players were first-year students Eom Sung-min and Shin Yu-beom, and second-year students Yoon Ji-hoon, Yoon Ji-won, and Song Young-hoon. Yongsan struggled against Kyungbock’s solid defense, and the team led 22-10 after the first quarter. Their defense continued through the second quarter, ending the first half 39-20. Kyungbock extended the lead to 62-28 in the third quarter and finished the game with a clean 77-48 victory.

A notable highlight was Yoon Ji-hoon, the younger of the Yoon twins, who was named the tournament MVP. In the final, Yoon Ji-hoon recorded 22 points, 8 rebounds, and 10 assists, nearly achieving a triple-double.

Basketball fans are now looking forward to Kyungbock’s future in 2026, wondering if the so-called “Kyungbock Tower” will be complete by then. Kyungbock High School is scheduled to participate in the Korean National Sports Festival on October 19.
