A new history is written in the Korean national team roster. The Korean national soccer team announced the national team roster for the A match on 8/25. Jens Castrop who is half-Korean and half-German is chosen for the Korean national team. It is the first time that foreign born soccer player is on a national soccer team.
He is now playing at Borussia Mönchengladbach in the Bundesliga league. He is playing at the mid-fielder and his playing style is known as full of passion and work rate. Current head coach of Korea
Hong-myung-bo said that he chose Castrop because he has a strong will to join the Korea national team even though he is young. Hong-Myung-bo, also referred to as Castrop, will give energy to the team with his great passion. One problem of Castrop is that he has many fouls and a low pass success rate. Korean fans are looking forward to Castrop to be a partner of Hwang in bum who is a midfielder of Korean national team.
In September, the Korean national soccer team will play against the United States and Mexico in an away game. It will be a good opportunity for the team to check not only the environment of Northern America but also balanced teamwork for the 2026 Fifa World Cup.
