Konkuk University beats Daegu Science University 29-0

On August 19, 2025, there was a game between the Konkuk University soccer team and the Daegu Science University soccer team in the college soccer league. Surprisingly, Konkuk University scored 29 goals against Daegu Science University without conceding a single point. Konkuk scored 12 goals in the first half and 17 goals in the second half. Many soccer fans were shocked by the number of goals.


There was a big difference between the two teams, especially in player composition. Daegu Science University had difficulty recruiting players because they started forming the team only after the semester began. As a result, the team was composed of just 3–4 elite players along with regular university students. Daegu Science University appointed coach Ko Jae-hyo, who is well-known as the mentor of Bae Jun-ho. In contrast, the Konkuk University team was composed entirely of elite players. This distinction led to a huge performance gap between the two teams.


After the game, Konkuk University head coach Lee Sung-hwan said, “Our team did its best even though the opponent only had three elite players and was not a complete team. Not giving our best would not only be disrespectful to the opponent but could also cause problems.” The Konkuk University team is now looking forward to their next game. Meanwhile, Daegu Science University has expressed its willingness to join the U-League and other tournaments.
