Singer and TV personality Kim Jong-kook (49) has announced that he will be getting married, sharing the news with fans through a handwritten letter on August 18.


In the letter, Kim confessed, “I’m getting married. I always wondered when I’d write something like this, but now that the day has come, I feel more nervous and emotional than expected.” He added, “This year marks my 30th anniversary. Instead of making a new album, I found my other half. Please congratulate and support me, even though it may feel sudden for many of you.”


He went on to thank his fans, saying their support gave him the strength to take this next step in life. Kim emphasized that the wedding will be small and private, attended only by family and close acquaintances. Details about the bride remain undisclosed.


The announcement not only surprised fans but also close colleagues, including fellow members of SBS’s long-running variety show Running Man. Even they reportedly had no idea until Kim revealed the news himself.


Born in 1976, Kim debuted in 1995 as part of the hit duo Turbo before building a successful solo career as a ballad singer. He later became a household name in entertainment, especially through Running Man, where he has been a central cast member since 2010. With this marriage, Kim marks not only three decades in the spotlight but also a new beginning in his personal life.
