Korean comedian Kim Byung-man is set to get married this September.

On the 3rd, Kim Byung-man’s agency, Sky Turtle, told Maeil Business Star Today, “Kim Byung-man is planning to get married in September this year,” adding, “His fiancée is a non-celebrity. The wedding will be a small and intimate ceremony attended only by family members.”

Kim Byung-man registered his marriage with a woman, A, who was seven years older than him, in 2010, but their marriage ended in 2020. In August of that year, he filed for divorce and property division, along with a lawsuit seeking damages for 674.02 million KRW that A had allegedly withdrawn without authorization. Initially, A expressed opposition to the divorce but later filed a counterclaim, accusing Kim Byung-man of habitual physical abuse.

In December 2022, the Seoul Family Court ruled that “the affection and trust between the two have already collapsed, and their marriage is irreparably broken.” The court determined the property division ratio as 75% for Kim Byung-man and 25% for A. It also ordered A to transfer her 1/2 ownership stake to Kim Byung-man, change the policyholder name on an insurance contract to him, and return nearly 1 billion KRW. A appealed the decision, but it was dismissed, and her final appeal to the Supreme Court was also rejected, confirming the divorce in 2023.

Kim Byung-man debuted as a comedian in 2002 through KBS’s 17th open recruitment program. He gained widespread popularity through hit KBS2’s Gag Concert. He also became well-known for his survival-themed entertainment shows, including SBS’s Law of the Jungle and TV Chosun’s Survival King: Tribal War.
