BTS’s Jimin Confirms Past Relationship With Actress Song Da-eun

BTS member Jimin (30) has officially acknowledged that he was once in a relationship with actress Song Da-eun (34), following years of speculation. His agency BigHit Music released a statement on August 31 confirming that the two had dated several years ago but emphasized that they are no longer together.
Rumors surrounding Jimin and Song first surfaced in 2022 when Song posted several social media updates that fans believed hinted at a romance. These included selfies wearing BTS merchandise, personal items marked with Jimin’s initials, and images in which Jimin’s presence was implied. While the rumors quickly spread, Jimin and his agency remained silent at the time, while Song often expressed frustration over the constant speculation and online harassment she faced from fans.
The controversy reignited this past week after Song uploaded a video to her TikTok account showing her waiting in an elevator before Jimin appeared and spoke to her in a familiar tone. The clip, reportedly filmed in Jimin’s residence building, fueled renewed discussion about their past relationship and led many to believe Song had chosen to share the video in response to ongoing negativity directed at her online.
BigHit Music explained that they had refrained from commenting previously out of respect for privacy but said that with rumors and false reports escalating, they felt compelled to clarify the basic facts. The agency added, “We ask that people refrain from reckless speculation, as such actions could harm both the artist and the individual involved.”
Song Da-eun first gained public attention through the reality show Heart Signal 2 in 2018 and later appeared in several dramas, while Jimin, who recently completed his military service, is preparing for BTS’s highly anticipated comeback in 2026.
