AWS (Amazon Web Services) reported a global outage that disrupted many of the world's biggest websites and applications (e.g. Snapchat, Reddit, Roblox) on Oct 25 2025. For this situation, Amazon Web services said that it has fixed the fundamental cause. However, the users couldn’t use the websites and apps for almost the whole day. The cause of the problem was a malfunction at Amazon Web Service, the giant cloud computing division, whose infrastructure supports a lot of big companies’ websites and platforms.

Due to these outages, the majority of sites go down in one single outage which are less common. According to BBC technology reporter Liv McMahon, some experts predict that these outages are becoming more frequent.

Amazon Service Web announced that the programs have returned to normal operation after the 15-hour long outage. In an earlier update, the company said the fundamental problems of the outage had been fixed, on the other hand there were still connection problems on some AWS services. On the final update, they said the final technical problem has been resolved and it would later afford a full explanation in details about the cause and range of the outage.

BBC North America technology reporter says, after service returns to normal, the blame starts, as the damaged companies begin to try and recover today’s losses.
