A recent study has shown that coffee has surprising benefits for liver health, especially for women, and healthy aging. According to a review published in Biochemical and Pharmacology, coffee has the benefits of anti-inflammatory, anti-fibrotic, metabolic, and intestinal microbial communities that benefit the liver. Drinking two cups a day can reduce the risk of cirrhosis and fibrosis, slow the progression of hepatitis C, and reduce the likelihood of developing MASLD, the most common chronic liver disease.
A long-term study presented at the Nutrition 2025 Conference found that middle-aged adults who drank coffee in moderation had better aging outcomes. Ordinary coffee drinkers were more likely to live to the age of 70 without chronic diseases, memory problems, or physical deterioration. Daily coffee consumption was associated with a 20 percent reduction in soda consumption and a 2 percent increase in healthy aging
Experts point out that the effectiveness of coffee depends on genetics and tolerance. While physiologically active compounds are beneficial, some people may still experience negative side effects.
