Tomorrow, students across South Korea will face the 2026 College Scholastic Ability Test (CSAT). Students will be evaluated based on their academic achievements, which they have accomplished over the last 13 years or more. With more than 550,000 test takers registered, it is the largest attendance in seven years.
The exam is scheduled for Thursday and will run from 8:40 a.m. until 5:45 p.m. Of the 554,174 registered students, around 67% are current high-school seniors, 29% are graduates, and the remaining 4% are other applicants. The increase in numbers is largely attributed to the ‘golden-pig year’ births (2007) reaching exam age.
The Ministry of Education and other officials once made it clear that students should bring their admission ticket and a physical photo ID. All electronic devices, including smartphones and smartwatches, are strictly prohibited as they’re considered cheating. Authorities also emphasize arriving at the exam place ahead of 8:100 a.m. so that the test takers avoid delays.
For many students, tomorrow is more than a test; it is a peak of years of hard work and dreams. To everyone taking the exam, stay calm, stay focused, and trust in yourself.
