K-pop icon and television personality Lee Hyori (45) has announced the opening of her own yoga studio in Seoul, marking a new chapter in her long-standing passion for yoga.
According to her agency Antenna, Lee recently opened Ananda Yoga in the Yeonhui-dong neighborhood of Seodaemun District. Classes will officially begin in the first week of September and will operate on a reservation-only basis, with three sessions offered daily. Lee herself will personally lead the classes.
The name Ananda—meaning “bliss” or “joy” in Sanskrit—has been used by Lee as her yoga alter ego for several years, even tattooed on her body as a personal symbol. Her studio has already launched an official social media account, drawing attention from fans, including her husband, singer Lee Sang-soon.
Lee, often described as one of Korea’s first-generation K-pop stars, debuted in the late 1990s with the girl group Fin.K.L before embarking on a successful solo career. Beyond music, she has become a beloved television personality and cultural trendsetter.
Over the past decade, Lee has been closely associated with a slower-paced lifestyle in Jeju Island, where she lived with her husband for more than 10 years. During that time, she regularly practiced yoga and even taught classes to her agency staff in 2022. Earlier this year, she also held a public session at a yoga brand store where she serves as a model.
Now based in Seoul’s Pyeongchang-dong neighborhood, Lee is officially stepping into the role of yoga instructor. With her certification and long personal history of practice, she aims to share the discipline with others through Ananda Yoga.
