South Korean YouTuber KwakTube (real name Kwak Joon-bin) has announced that he will be getting married this October to his non-celebrity girlfriend. The couple is also expecting their first child.
Kwak, who rose to fame through his travel-themed YouTube channel that showcases lesser-known destinations with humor and candid storytelling, has become one of Korea’s most recognizable digital creators. His channel has attracted millions of subscribers both at home and abroad, making his personal announcement headline news in Korea.
His agency, SM C&C, confirmed on September 8: “Kwak Joon-bin will marry in October. His bride-to-be is a non-celebrity, and the two have built a relationship of love and trust, promising to become lifelong partners.” The agency added that while preparing for the wedding, the couple also discovered they were expecting a baby. “As the pregnancy is still in its early stages, they are waiting carefully and gratefully for their new family member.”
The wedding will be private, attended only by close family members and friends. SM C&C asked the public to send warm congratulations as Kwak begins a new stage of life.
Kwak also shared the news directly with fans through his YouTube channel in a video titled “Announcing a New Beginning in My Life.” He explained that the original plan was to marry in May 2025, but after learning he would soon become a father, he and his partner decided to move the ceremony up to October.
Speaking about his fiancée, Kwak said: “She is younger than me, but she has always lifted my self-esteem and given me confidence. We first dated before I became well-known, but as life grew busier, we drifted apart. Later we reunited, and this time she became an even greater source of comfort.” He added that, though she is quiet and introverted, she has supported and encouraged him, which made him realize early on that she was the person he wanted to marry.
Kwak concluded: “As a husband and father-to-be, I want to become more mature and live diligently, showing everyone a happy life. I am grateful for all the support so far.”
