Daedoseogwan (Na Dong-hyun, 46), one of Korea’s first-generation YouTubers, has been found dead at his home in Seoul, shocking fans and fellow creators.

According to police, he was discovered on the morning of September 6 after failing to appear at an appointment. No suicide note or signs of foul play were found, and investigators believe health issues may have been a factor. An autopsy is underway to determine the exact cause of death.

News of his passing quickly spread online, with fans leaving thousands of messages on his social media and final livestream. Many described him as a constant presence in the gaming and streaming scene, expressing disbelief and sorrow.

A funeral has been arranged at Konkuk University Medical Center in Seoul, with the service scheduled for September 9. His ex-wife and fellow YouTuber Yumddaeng (Lee Chae-won) has been serving as chief mourner alongside his family. While some criticized her presence due to their divorce last year, many others praised her for staying by his side and offering dignity in his final farewell.

Daedoseogwan, who rose to fame in the early 2000s with game streaming, built a channel of over 1.4 million subscribers through gaming content and talk shows. Just two days before his death, he attended Seoul Fashion Week and livestreamed for fans, making the sudden news even harder to accept.
