Suwon KT basketball player Heo Hoon was fined 200,000 won for unsportsmanlike behavior following a narrow 73-74 loss to Anyang Jeong-gwan on the 7th. During the game, Heo Hoon rushed under the basket for a lay-up when KT was leading 73-72 but was blocked by Bae Byung-jun and Jeong Hyo-geun. The referee did not call a foul on the play, and KT conceded two free throws to Jeong Hyo-Geun 1.6 seconds before the game ended, resulting in a loss. Frustrated by the reversed outcome, Heo Hoon protested to the referee and kicked an advertising billboard, leading KBL to impose the fine during their meeting on the 12th.
In a separate incident, KBL overturned a technical foul against Wonju DB player Chinanu Onuaku, who was penalized during a game against KT on the 2nd for hitting his forehead twice after a dunk. Onuaku appealed the decision by paying a 200,000 won deposit, which led to a review. KBL eventually withdrew the technical foul ruling, refunded Onuaku’s deposit, and canceled the fine.
