Korean actress Jeon Jong-seo is set to join a major Hollywood blockbuster, continuing her growing global career.

Her agency, Andmarq, announced on the 6th that Jeon has been cast in the upcoming film Highlander (remake). The project will be directed by Chad Stahelski, known for the John Wick series, and features a star-studded cast including Henry Cavill, Mark Ruffalo, Russell Crowe, Dave Bautista, Karen Gillan, and Jeremy Irons. The film is being produced by United Label under Amazon MGM Studios, with a reported production budget of around 100 billion won (approx. $75 million USD).

A remake of the 1986 classic, Highlander is an action-fantasy film depicting immortal warriors who battle across centuries to be the last one standing. Jeon will play a key member of The Watchers, a secret organization that monitors the immortals and maintains balance within their world.

Filming was initially planned for this fall but has been postponed to early 2026 due to lead actor Henry Cavill’s injury.

Jeon Jong-seo made her debut in Lee Chang-dong’s Burning (2018), which was invited to the Cannes Film Festival and earned her international recognition. She later appeared in Ana Lily Amirpour’s Mona Lisa and the Blood Moon (2023) and the Toronto International Film Festival–invited film Project Y, steadily building her presence in global cinema.

With Highlander, Jeon is set to star alongside world-renowned actors, drawing attention as one of the most anticipated Korean talents in Hollywood.
