Last month Hong Myung Bo, the head coach of the Korean national soccer team had a press conference. He mentioned that he was also selected as captain of the national team 2 months ago. It implies that he might change the team captain before the world cup is held. Upcoming 9/7, and 9/10 the Korean national team would have a game with the United States and Mexico. These two games are seen as good opportunities to check players' performance and local environment.
In the conference press, Hong Myung Bo answered the question about changing captains. He mentioned that “I haven't decided yet, but I have to think more considerably for the team”. He also said that there are young players that can replace son’s role. He might adjust the son’s playing time. Last year, Hong Myung Bo gave the captain armband to Kim Min Jae when son wasn’t playing because of the injury.
Nowadays, the topic of changing captain begins to be the hot news. Some might say it will reduce son heung min’s burden if he isn’t captain at the world cup. Changing captain depends on the members and Hong Myung Bo.
